Spiderman...Repainted!

Hey all..its been awhile since my last update. Its been pretty hectic for me with work and all, but its a bit clearing up lately.

Anyways, here's another repaint project that I worked on. There are a few more that I've finished (well, 90% done that is..heh) which i haven't taken any pics yet except 'Work In Progress' pics. And as some of you would know, I'm the type would only post it up when the work has been completed.

Alritey then, let's cut the chatter and let's see who's the accused today.
Here we have is a ToyBiz 18inch Spiderman 2 action figure. This guy here was my first attempt at repainting action figures and he was one helluva ride to do. Reference taken was from the Spiderman 3 black suit.

Here's the fella in all his normal colors.

So I started with the usual preparations, undercoat it with my special concoction and trimming it nicely. Then got to repainting him fully. The color I chose was Metal Black. I remember watching the movie and the black on Spidey was quite metallic..making him having these metal shine to it. Once I sprayed it all over, and YOWZA! His color was close to the movie.

Here, let me show you.

Once the whole body has been covered, I had to wait for it to dry for a few days..you know, just making sure and all. At the same time I go through again anatomy per anatomy to see wether I missed any parts or not. Paint dries and I start working on the lining. The lining is the trademark for the movie version of our friendly neighbourhood wall crawler.

And now...I present to you, Spiderman - Black Suit version...

Alternator Optimus Prime Repaint

Well, while I'm still working on a few repaint projects at the same time (yes...theres more than one at the moment), I managed to squeeze in some repainted work for myself. I received this Alternator Prime as one of my payments for my repainting services (not trying to make a habit of this and this is only for my regulars..) so I decided to 'pimp' him a bit. Nothing bling bling but just a nice paintjob to eliminate the original 'plasticky' colors...

The colors that I chose were metallic red with an undercoat of silver. Since Prime's colors were originally red, the metallic look didn't seem to stand out at first. So with the silver undercoat, the metallic red stood out more. Another that I repainted were the legs. I don't remember Prime having black legs...except the Nemesis version though, so I opt to recolor it according to his Generation One scheme.

Enough talk, here is the fella...

Masterpiece Nemesis Prime

Here we have another Nemesis colour scheme. You all must be wondering what's going with this black colour thingy..hahahaha...well, its pretty cool and pretty evil.

Okay, as some of you would know, Hasbro (God bless their kind hearts) came out with the 20th anniversary Masterpiece Optimus Prime. It was much much cheaper and affordable to get rather than the Takara version (thats the Japanese version) except that the Hasbro has teeny tiny smokestacks. I heard a lot of grumbles about that..but for me..what do I care rite? I think at least Hasbro is trying to get everybody to be able to afford the greatest Autobot of them all..and for me, that's a good thing.

Here's the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime in all his original colours.

Anyhoo, back to our MP Nemesis Prime story. My friend who is also my customer wanted me to define how Nemesis should look like. He gave me the freedom to go crazy over the fella and mentioned, 'give me something that will say he is the bastard son of Unicron'. And so I did. Worked with some ideas with him and I suggested the chip on the mouth cover, to show that he has had some scrapes in his life. The Autobot emblem was scratched in such a way to show his defiance to the Autobot since he is the true evil version of our beloved Optimus Prime.

Well, enough talking...here's the main bot himself. I give you...

By the way, there will be another Masterpiece Optimus to Nemesis coming soon. It will be different from what you've seen. So stay tuned true believers.
