Hasbro Iron Man Mk4 Secret Project Ver.

Update! (Belated...heh)

Okay, a commissioned work from a client from Indonesia. (Told you I was going international...)

I was contacted a few months back to do a Hasbro Iron Man Mk4 figure custom. After discussing and suggested color designs, I got cracking. Before anything I had to go hunt the figure first...lol.

So, I used Hot Toy's Secret Project figure as a base reference and added in some of my own personal touches as well as my own mix of paint. I wanted the prototype style colors yet having a nice metal feel to it without looking too metal like.

A few trials of mixing gray and silver managed to get me the right mixture I wanted.

So here it is:

Iron Man Mk4 Secret Project Ver. RKD

The figure is now with the owner and he is superbly satisfied with it. Phew. Here's what he had to say about it, not to mention he sent me a photo of the figure in a diorama.

This is the reason I do what I do. I love it when a client is happy with the work and most of all, they get the figure they dreamed about. Money was just the extra part...heh

Till next time!

Deluxe Transformers Movie Sideswipe

Update!

It takes me ages to do an update, even if the works done a while back. Heh.

Well, let's hope that next time...it'll be faster. Hahahahah...

Anyhoo, It's been a long time since I've actually worked on a movieverse Transformer figure. Had a few that I worked on my own...but...like my brother asked,"So...when is this gonna be finished?".

I could never answer that.

Hokay, so here is a deluxe Sideswipe. Originally it's a repaint edition of the sidearm Sideswipe...so what I'm doing is actually a repaint from a repaint...hahaha...

Enough talk...let's get to it...

There ya go...

Until next time...cheerios!

War For Cybertron Optimus Prime Custom Repaints (Metal and Shattered Glass Ver.)

Update!

Okay...another set of customs I did for a friend.

The War For Cybertron toyline was a pretty good series. Namely the big bot himself, Optimus Prime. Sadly he came in deluxe sized which in my opinion was a waste.

Okay, so a friend came to me and asked to commission metallic versions of the big ol' bot. Now, as a customiser who rarely does metallic finishes, this was kinda like a challenge. (Furthermore I have a few other commissions that requires me to do metallic finishes...heh.)

So...after some trials and bottles of paints...I finally found the particular ones I like the most. So here it is...

 Okay...more to come soon!

Cheers everyone!

3rd Party KFC Citizen Stack Custom Repaint (Ultra Magnus)

Update!

It's been awhile. So let's just skip the pleasantries and get to it!

So I received a 3rd party Transformers from a friend to repaint. It's from KFC Toys (not the finger lickin' good company okay...), called Citizen Stack or more apt, Ultra Magnus. Now the plastic and design is pretty good...decent you might say. But I do have some complaints on the head tho. Luckily my friend manage to grab another headsculpt from another company which is far better than the original.

Now the name of course was pretty interesting, I didn't understood it initially but then I remembered the voice actor for Ultra Magnus in the 1986 Transformers Movie. So I guess it makes sense now...heh.

Okay, so what did I do? First of all did some test run on the colors. I didn't like the dark blue of the original and opt for a lighter blue like the cartoon version but slightly darker like the IDW comic version. Highlighted some details and got rid of all that icky blings.

So here it is.

KFC Citizen Stack (not Ultra Magnus)

So there you have it folks! Stay tuned for more custom works from RK Designs Studio.

Yeah...I'm back.

Masterpiece Grimlock (Animation Ver.)

Update!

Hokay.

My bad.

I forgot about the other MP Grimlock that I completed many moons ago. Again I thought it was, but the again it wasn't...looks like I am getting old. Another 3 years I'm hitting the big 4-0...hahahaha...

Okay, so this client requested I di a simple finishing. Get rid of the gold and chrome and make it look as close to it's animated version. The gray parts was actually sprayed with clear flat coat rather than doing a full on gray repaint.

Looks good IMHO...

Here he is...

Masterpiece Grimlock (animation ver.)

There ya all go. Heh. Sorry again to the client!
Next up...one name: MAGNUS!

Hasbro Ironman 2 War Machine (Re-Imagined)

Update!

Jeez...how hard it is for me to update nowadays...hahahah...

Okay, so a little while ago (make that a few years) I was given by a friend an extra War Machine figure. Since it was an extra, I did it up into the milk version...if you all remembered it, here's the link:

I tried to sell it in the local market, but apparently nobody seemed to be interested (unless it was a Hot Toys figure...). So after some time, I stripped off the paint and planned to make another color scheme.

That was many months ago before my little Audrey was born.

Got back into painting after a long break and I need to finish up some Ironman figures. So I had to do some R&D in getting the right colors and I sort of stumbled upon this new color.

Getting inspiration, I remembered the War Machine that I was working on. The idea behind it now was a 'What if...' situation.

What if Tony Stark actually made the War Machine armour for himself?

This is your answer...

Yup...I think he looks pretty good, but I'm upset that the camera didn't manage to capture his 'true' colors like this:

Known as Candy Red with a base coat of gold and black. Might plan to sell it, but still pondering on that. Heh.

Until next time then!
Ciao!
