Masterpiece Nemesis Prime

Here we have another Nemesis colour scheme. You all must be wondering what's going with this black colour thingy..hahahaha...well, its pretty cool and pretty evil.

Okay, as some of you would know, Hasbro (God bless their kind hearts) came out with the 20th anniversary Masterpiece Optimus Prime. It was much much cheaper and affordable to get rather than the Takara version (thats the Japanese version) except that the Hasbro has teeny tiny smokestacks. I heard a lot of grumbles about that..but for me..what do I care rite? I think at least Hasbro is trying to get everybody to be able to afford the greatest Autobot of them all..and for me, that's a good thing.

Here's the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime in all his original colours.

Anyhoo, back to our MP Nemesis Prime story. My friend who is also my customer wanted me to define how Nemesis should look like. He gave me the freedom to go crazy over the fella and mentioned, 'give me something that will say he is the bastard son of Unicron'. And so I did. Worked with some ideas with him and I suggested the chip on the mouth cover, to show that he has had some scrapes in his life. The Autobot emblem was scratched in such a way to show his defiance to the Autobot since he is the true evil version of our beloved Optimus Prime.

Well, enough talking...here's the main bot himself. I give you...

By the way, there will be another Masterpiece Optimus to Nemesis coming soon. It will be different from what you've seen. So stay tuned true believers.

  1. nice job! Did you have to take MP Prime completely apart and paint each piece separately? and what kind of paint did you use?

  2. thanks! yeah, i had to totally disassemble the MP Prime, but there were parts that i couldnt take apart so i opt to do masking. paints i use are a mixture of modelling paints.

  3. Your paint job has inspired me to try the same. I recently got a double of my masterpiece prime and am shopping around for a second hand airbrush. Any suggestions for airbrushes? Prime's rear tires are pretty much impossible to remove from his legs.. I can see why masking is going to be such an important issue to keep in mind.
