MG Zetaplus C1

Update!

Another Gundam build I did awhile back. Actually this guy was finished way back but I kinda forgot where I stashed the pictures. Yeah, I got hidden compartments on my laptop. Anyhoo, this is how he looks like before being painted. (My wife suggested I do a before and after thing going on here...)

And this is how he looks like after. Just changed the blue color scheme and tried out this new gray scheme I wanted to do. Here he is.

MG Zetaplus C1

The Zetaplus C1 is a transformable mecha. And you must be wondering, where's his alternate mode? Heh...Sorry, I sort of forgot to take photos of it. LOL...

Ciao Bello!

Blast From The Past - MG Freedom Gundam

The Year: 2006

Again another blast from the past posting. Dug into my archive and here I found another Gunpla build of mine that could have been one of my earliest airbrushed works. And me being a big fan of the Freedom Gundam (the mecha okay, not the pilot!) I wanted to make sure that this fella was done right...(on another note...I hate the Strike Freedom..bah!)

Didn't do any changes to the original paint scheme...the only details I did was added some extra decals. And so here it is...the 2006 version of the Master Grade Freedom...

(Don't bother with the panel lines and rough surface...it was half a decade ago okay...LOL)

So...What happened to this kit? It was sold a while back. Quite cheap. Yes. At that time I wasn't sure how much it was worth, and since it was one of my earlier airbrushed kit...I wasn't that confident with the pricing of my work.

Now it's different. Heh.

And stay tune, my wife got me another MG Freedom Gundam...So let's see how I do after 5 years of airbrushing and modeling...

And that was...2006.

Cheers!

MG RX-178 Mk II A.E.U.G

Update!

After a very long hiatus from doing Gunpla or Gundam Plastic model kits, I'm finally back into the field. Don't worry, its not that I'm leaving from doing Transformer repaints and kitbashes...just wanted to take a short breather and do something that was and shall forever be my passion.

How did I come back? I'd say it would be due to my wife. You see, she is a strong supporter of my hobbies. She's been the one that always kept me in check and despite not knowing much about gundams, she would ask me once in awhile the history or storyline of a particular robot.

Last few months she bought me an MG Astray Blue Frame (there will be a posting about this fella soon...) and that got the ball rolling. I felt alive again after hitting the kitbashing wall. Snap fitted the fella and I felt good...so I got myself more Master Grade kits...and from there on...heh...

Well, I cheated a bit since this particular kit was built awhile back but I couldn't find the time to actually finish him properly...it was just putting on some decals and a nice clear coat to top it off.

So, I dug out my decal set and worked on the fella. And that my dear friends, of how I got myself back into Gunpla.

Stay tune...more to come...can we say...F91?

Gundam Works: Zollidia, Exia and Astray Red Frame

UPDATE!

Hey hey..guess what? I manage to get some pics of my previous Gundam works. Thanks to my good ol' buddy Fahmi (letting me take images of his precious took a lot of courage...heh). Anyhoo, I have taken the liberty to post 3 of the whole lot of Gundam kits that I've done using my trusty airbrush...

Okay, first up is the no-grade scale 1/100 Zollidia from the V-Gundam series. I've had this guy for quite some time and among all my collections, he's practically the only 'bad mech' from the Gundam world in my possession. I painted him before a while back by hand painting and it wasn't such a nice job. So when I got my airbrush, this guy got his paint stripped and done up properly.

Before:

After:

Next up is the no-grade 1/100 Gundam Astray Red Frame. This particular fella is the 3rd one that I've done in my lifetime. Yep...you heard it right. The 3rd time. And none of it was mine. LOL. Well, with this guy I used pre-shading. An airbrushing technique that I've been practicing on. It turned out okay. If you can see the seamlines, well, its not that I didn't want to cover it...it was the insistance of my friend/customer. So forgive me. No worries though, I've slowly started to work on my 1/100 Blue Frame...heh...my own kit...so it will be better. Trust me.

The third fella is the no-grade 1/100 Gundam Exia from the Gundam 00 series. This is the latest kit from the new Gundam series and all I can say is that Bandai's Gunpla technology has improved so much. The kit now sports superb joints nearly as close to the Master Grade kits. The amount of details put into the kit is amazing! I was having a whale of a time building it, but like the Red Frame, the seamline covering was omitted. (It's because of the fee that I charge...heh...) But like I said, no worries...my own Exia will be making its way in this blog of mine.

Alrite peeps, that's the update for now. Next update we'll be going back to Transformers. Maybe a good healthy dosage of Gundam kits, Armored Core kits would do a lot of good for the blog don't you think so?

Until next time!

Cheeeeerios!

I'm On Youtube!!

Hey all...

Sadly but no updates for the moment. Accidently deleted most of my latest works in the digicam, so as you all would know, I have to at re-take all the pics...goddarnit...

Anyhoo...until my upcoming updates which are a resin kit and a couple of TFTM repaints, just wanted to share with you all that I've been 'youtube-ed'.

More than a week ago, a group of students from one of our local universities decided to take me as one of their subject matter in their project. It seems I was recommended to them by a friend of mine and truth be told, I felt honored. So after a whole day of shooting (which later you can see how clean my room is...heh...yeah rite...) the did the editing and uploaded in on 'youtube'.

Here's the link and for the first time ever, you all (to those who don't know me or how I look like...) will be able to see my face and...*gasp*...talking!! And it is true, that the camera does add a few pounds on us, the double chin you see later is all the camera...yep...all of it...heh...

Me On Youtube <---click 'ere!

Enjoy!

Non Grade 1/100 Astray Red Frame

Since I'm working on a new repaint project at the moment, I thought that I could post up some of my previous Gunpla works. It will be random and not in chronological order since I don't really remember when I did some of them. For starters, here's the Astray Red Frame. I built him around February 2006 and haven't gotten my airbrush yet.

When the kit came out way back as a non-grade 1/144 scale (not much mobility..pretty sucky) I had to have it. Even for a non-grade it had details that was quite amazing. I managed to get hold of it and built it using my very noob skills at that time. As time passed by I prayed that Bandai would come out with a bigger version of this fella.

And they did.

Woohooo! I quickly got myself one and worked on it. *Note: This kit was painted using handbrush, so excuse the certain...erm...how shall we say..errors on it..heh*

First of all, it was a fantastic kit. Despite being a non-grade 1/100, not only the details but the poseability to it was as though it was a Master Grade! Before painting, I snap fitted it and it took me a week just playing with this guy..yes..I played with him. Giving him cool poses and such.

Anyways, got to painting and adding the decals to him..so here are the images of this magnificent non-grade gunpla kit.

For those how don't know, the Astray Red Frame is from the Gundam Seed series. They never showed him in the normal series but had his own manga and one animated clip for promotions.

A good kit.
