ROTF Voyager Megatron

Update!

Alright, another one!

So what we have here is another Transformers: ROTF figure that needed to be repainted. Why?

Before:

Yup...thats why.

So this is another comissioned work by my friend (the same TFU Magnus customer) and as I would prefer giving me some instructions and also reference pics. But as usual, I'd add some details of my own to make it more...different.

Enough talk, here he is once its done.

Robot Masters Megatron (WIP) Part 01

Update!

Okay, while I'm waiting for my parts to arrive (and paint curing as well) for most of my projects, I was working on the sidelines with this.

I manage to get my hands on one of those Robot Master Megatron that was issued a while back. It was kinda of a good deal from a pal of mine (Congrats on getting married dude!) and when I saw the RM Megs...well, let's just say that my stomach churned a bit...(sorry to the owners of this fig).

Looking at it along with the other two Megatron figs I had a brainstorm to upgrade the fella. Having an extra Gundam F91 (the ol' 90's kit) I decided to do a total makeover.

Currently its still a work in progress but I felt that I needed to share with you all what I've done at the moment.

Now: (still a work in progress)

Armed:

I hope to finish this guy around next week or so, keep on checking for updates ya.

Ps: the articulated Star Saber is coming around soon along with a bunch of other repaints and kitbash, so hang on to your Cybertronian balls my friends!

Ja ne'! (its 'Later' in japanese...i think...heh)

Note: This is a Work In Progress (WIP) post. So the final work might not be the same as it was originally designed by RK Designs.

Voyager Movie Megatron Re-Imagined

Wouldn't you believe that this is the second update for the week? Woohoo? Heh...well, not necessarily since this fella was completed a couple of days back.

Okay, so what's the story on this bad boy? Simple. Original colors sucked and needed an overhaul. My friend wanted me to do something a bit more darker. He gave me a link to have a look see, and it was pretty nice. And as always, RK Designs will try to follow and give a slight 'RK' touch (cue Stan Bush's 'The Touch'...) to it.

I gave the fella a silver undercoat then later applied a slight rust brown to it. Later adding the black shadings. The shadings had some gloss to it and enhanced the metal look to it. And there you have lads and lasses...

Movie Megatron Make-Over

Hey all, as you all know the Transformer Movie is currently showing and is the hottest movie hitting the cinemas now. And as before, the merchandising will ensue from toys to whatever you can think of. But RK Designs won't be going that far, just doing another repaint for another customer.

Who is it this time? It's the Leader Class Megatron. As a personal opinion, the figure was colored badly by the manufacturers (this is an honest comment...) and I think, a Leader Class figure should have been given more work on the paintjob. Last few weeks, a friend showed me a link to a custom repaint of the Movie Megs. Members rooted for me to do a RK version, but I had to wait till someone sends in the fig.

Lucky for me, a toy shop (Toy Workers - link can be seen on the right panel) who has been a strong supporter of RK Designs and a good friend sent in the first Megs to be repainted. The scheme? Well, they asked me to try to follow closely to the link they gave in the forum, then I thought again...I don't remember RK Designs following someone else's design...So I opt for a different approach.

And here ladies and gentlemen...is the result..

p.s: I didn't have time to properly take the pictures of the figure at home since the owner needed it quite urgent, so I brought my digicam and did a photo session in his shop.

More Classic Nemesis and Megatron

Well, currently I'm working on a Masterpiece Nemesis Prime (two of them, two clients..heh) and don't have any photos of the work in progress, I thought I'd put in some more of the pics of my latest work which is the Classics Nemesis and Megatron repaint.

Kudos to Arya (the photographer) for taking some time to do some extra photo taking session with our too-busy models Nemesis and Megatron. Next week they'll be flying to Paris for another photo shoot..the Viva-de la Classico Repaint Mode'.

Enjoy!

Nemesis in all his evil-ness...

By the way...the photo shoot in Paris was just a joke..so don't expect some kind of photo session upon my next update..heh..

Transformers Classics Megatron Repaint

Hey all..

Here I am again with another repainted work of mine. This time around its the Classics Megatron (its the latest line from Hasbro). The original colour was pretty sucky...it looked like a frickin nerf gun. When they mentioned 'classic' I thought they would come up with the original Generation One colours. Here's the original colour...(photos taken from www.hasbro.com)

So I was thinking to get one and repaint him with the original colours. But due to some financial restraints, I had to put the project aside. Until I mentioned it to a friend of mine, his eyes just got big and offered me his own Megatron to repaint (with a fee that is..heh). It took me a few days to repaint this guy since I had to see which parts was good in the G1 colours.

Well, enough talk...here's Megatron in his true G1 form. (Photos taken by Arya)

Robot Mode:

So what do you all think? My friend was pretty darn happy when he got Megs back. (And I'm thinking hard to get one of my own..*sigh*)

Here's a special scene done by my friend Arya. Megatron vs Optimus Prime:
